A little about Mr. F

  • Since returning from the Army in 1998 I have been pretty passionate about Food Safety and staff training! I became an Army Instructor in 1997 and I'm happy to report, "it took".
  • I attended the Weekend Professional Program at the California Culinary Academy (CCA) on Polk St. San Francisco from 1998-1999, started a small catering company, Cuisine Adventures, with five classmates, and at the same time worked at Oritalia Restaurant on Bush St. (Thank you Chef Brenda!)
  • I grew up in restaurants, starting at  age 12 I was washing dishes in Sausalito, and over time became familiar with all duties in the operation. I moved to a family style restaurant where I worked all of the positions both front and back of house before joining the Army, so coming home only took a little time settling back in to restaurant life again.
  • When I opened my restaurant, The Chancellor Cafe, in 2001 in San Francisco, I decided to not only get certified as a manager,  but also as a Certified ServSafe Instructor to better train my staff. 
  • I opened Sonoma Food Safety in 2007 when the laws in California changed from CURFFL to CalCode and soon afterwards I became a NEHA Instructor and NRFSP Exam Administrator. 
  • I try very hard  to bring my enthusiasm and expertise into all of my seminars and to the courses I provide.

Re-opening a good thing, glad to be back!

  • Thank you for clicking in! A little about me and my service business. I am a one person business in the S.F. North Bay Area, I started "Sonoma Food Safety" in 2007, had to close shop in 2017, and am now reopening in 2023. 
  • I provide ServSafe® and NRFSP® Food Safety Manager Exam testing every Monday in my Santa Rosa office near Kaiser Hospital. I also have offices in Petaluma, Napa, San Rafael, and San Francisco I am able to utilize for your convenience. 
  • Note: appointments are required, as I may be off-site providing a class somewhere else. Phone messages, Email and/or Texting is a good way to touch base with me. Please understand that if I am providing a class somewhere I won't be able to pick up the phone. Thanks for understanding, and I look forward to being a help here in the neighborhood.
  • Sonoma County, Napa County, Marin County, Mendocino County and Lake County are my normal stomping grounds, but I am happy to travel to other areas when asked. 
  • I'm willing to travel for one person, but I must charge a little more to offset the whole day, the price drops down when you have two or more people per session, over 5 people it drops even more. 
  • I'm in the process of setting up my online system, please bear with me as I do. additionally please check out my new website and newsletter and podcast, to help keep our local "food peeps" up to date with "New News".
